IRLwhatever Android App | Last updated: March 27, 2026
This privacy policy applies to the IRLwhatever Android application (package name: com.irlwhatever.app), developed and published by IRLwhatever ("we", "us", "our").
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Data processed locally on your device
IRLwhatever processes the following data entirely on your device. This data is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly choose to share it:
- Camera and microphone: Used to capture video and audio for live streaming. Streams are sent directly to your configured streaming server (e.g., your own SRTLA/RIST relay), not to our servers.
- Location (GPS): Used only for the optional map overlay widget displayed on your stream. Location data is sent to Google Maps for rendering and is not stored or transmitted by us.
- USB devices: Used to connect external cameras (UVC) and audio devices via USB OTG. Device information stays on your phone.
- Bluetooth: Used to connect and control DJI cameras via BLE. Connection data stays on your phone.
- Network state: Used to manage bonded connections (WiFi + cellular) for reliable streaming. Network identifiers are not stored or transmitted to us.
- Streaming configuration: Server addresses, stream keys, and connection settings are stored locally in SharedPreferences on your device.
1.2 Data you may choose to share
- Session logs: If you use the "Upload Log" feature, log files are uploaded to our log server (
whateverlogs.irlhosting.com) and assigned a shareable link. Logs may contain device model, app version, and diagnostic information. Logs are automatically deleted after 30 days.
- Anonymous telemetry: If enabled (opt-in), anonymous usage events (e.g., "stream started", "stream stopped", app version, device model) are sent to our server. Telemetry never includes streaming destinations, server addresses, stream keys, passwords, IP addresses, or precise location.
1.3 Data we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number
- We do not collect or store your streaming destination URLs, stream keys, or passphrases
- We do not collect or store your IP address for analytics
- We do not collect or store your GPS coordinates
- We do not collect or store your Twitch, Kick, or other platform credentials
- We do not record, store, or access your video or audio content

- Twitch / Kick: Chat integration connects to Twitch IRC and Kick WebSocket servers to display chat on your stream. No credentials are stored on our servers.
- StreamElements: Optional alerts integration. Your JWT token is stored locally on your device only.
4. Data Storage and Security
- All app settings, credentials, and configuration are stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences.
